King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue Launches the Activities of the North Solidarity Week

Under the Patronage of the Governor  of the Northern Borders  Region , King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue Launches the Activities of the North Solidarity Week , with the Participation of Government Bodies , Community Institutions  , Elite  of Scholars  and Intellectuals

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Sultan Al Saud, Governor of the Northern Borders Region, the activities of the “Northern Solidarity Week” organized by King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue will start next week. November 27, 2019, with the participation of members of the Board of Senior Scholars, a number of government agencies and community institutions, intellectuals and opinion leaders, pioneers of social media, and the literary club in Arar.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Fawzan, Secretary General of the Center, explained that organizing the Northern Solidarity Week in the Northern Borders Region is a continuation of the successful journey of the Solidarity Program organized by the Center in six regions of the Kingdom, to achieve its vision and promote the values of coexistence, diversity, moderation, tolerance and national solidarity, and confronting all that threatens the unity of the social fabric.

He pointed out that the Week of Solidarity  of the North, which lasts one week, highlights the national unity as a fundamental value that King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue cherishes, and works to instill, develop, support and deepen it among the Saudi citizens, through the consolidation of the culture of coexistence and tolerance and disseminating it  among members of the  society for the public good, and preserves the national unity, to achieve the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Al-Fawzan pointed out that the week of North Solidarity is based on promoting the concept of moderation and its impact on activating the roles of youth and contributing to enabling them to build initiatives that serve the region and the kingdom, plus stressing the importance of intellectual moderation and warning the community against  extremism, acceptance  and coexistance with others, in addition to strengthening the role of influencers through social networks and spreading the culture of dialogue and values ​​of tolerance and deepening the principle of transparency. The activities of the Northern Solidarity Week, which target all age groups, include a number of lectures, meetings, workshops, training programs, coffee discussions  and national evenings .The activities of the first day will begin with a training program for young people entitled “We are the children of the planet”, followed by the opening ceremony and the launch of a Solidarity  Week .

The second day will start with a training course entitled “Intellectual Dialogue” for students of Northern Borders University, followed by a dialogue session entitled “The Role of Education in Promoting National Values”, provided by the Director of Education in the region Othman Al-Othman, then a youth meeting, in addition to a lecture by H.E Sheikh Dr. Fahad Al-Majid, Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, entitled “The Moderate  Nation”.

The activities of the third day include the training program for youth and girls (Tebayan) in the intellectual dialogue, followed by a dialogue session entitled “Woman, a Partner in achieving the vision 2030”. Then a session titled “The Role of the New Media in Preserving National Unity” will be presented by Faisal Al-Abdulkarim and Alia Al-Obeid.

Today’s activities will be concluded with a poetic evening, by poet Saeed bin Manea and poet Khalaf Al-Mashaan.The fourth day includes Tamkeen’s workshop for the Region’s Youth Initiatives, sports and entertainment events, and a dialogue session in partnership with the Sports Authority under the title “The Role of Sports in Promoting National Solidarity.

The National Solidarity Week in the Northern Borders Region will be witnessing  a number of accompanying activities, including the exhibition of government entities and productive families in the region, in addition to the Fine Arts Exhibition. There will be a dialogue convoy    roaming  the cities, governorates and villages of the Northern Borders Region.
